At Lower Fishpool Lodges, we are proud to offer 100% dog-friendly stays in Knighton, Mid Wales, close to the Shropshire border. As dog owners and dog lovers ourselves, we invite you to bring along up to 2 well-behaved dogs per lodge for no extra charge.
Designed for dog stays, our lodges’ garden area is fully enclosed with livestock fencing, allowing your dog(s) to play and explore whilst you relax inside or in your private hot tub. In case of emergencies, our lodges also include the phone number of a well-trusted local emergency vet, who is familiar with our lodges and location.
Lucky to be situated in the spectacular beauty of rural Wales and close to the England border, whilst staying at our lodges you are blessed with many miles of fantastic dog walks to set tails wagging right on our doorstep.
Simply stroll into the nearby Radnor forest for a leisurely walk or venture to the Brecon Beacons for an energetic hike. After your adventure, explore one of the many local dog-friendly pubs, cafes, restaurants and attractions in the area.

About Dog Stays
Free Dog Stays
Every lodge stay at Lower Fishpools allows for dogs to join you during your booking for absolutely free. We look forward to welcoming you and your four-legged friend to stay with us to enjoy the beauty of Mid Wales.
Maximum of 2 Dogs
Each lodge has the capacity for a MAXIMUM of 2 dogs. We would love to have more dogs stay but unfortunately, the space does not permit it. Please specify the number of dogs joining you for each stay during the booking process.
Local Walking Rules
When taking the dogs outside the enclosed fencing of the lodge, please keep your dog on a lead if sheep are grazing in the fields. There are areas for off-the-lead lead dog walking nearby, please respect the local rules and follow signs.
Dog Stay Rules
To us, dogs are important family members so it is only right that they join you on family holidays. When staying at Lower Fishpool Lodges, we like to keep things fun and simple, so here are the golden rules for dog stays:
No Dogs On The Beds Or Sofas
Dogs are NOT permitted on any of the furniture. Please bring your throws and doggy beds for your dogs to relax and sleep on.
No Dogs In The Hot Tubs
Do NOT let your dog in the hot tub as it is not healthy or safe for your dog and not good for the hygiene of the hot tub.
We trust that all of our guests are respectful and responsible dog owners and that’s why we like to keep our dog stay rules simple.
In addition to these rules, we kindly ask that you clean up any dog mess from the garden throughout your stay, to protect the quality of our grass and garden space. Before leaving the property, please complete a final check of the garden area to ensure it is free from dog mess.

Less than a 20-minute drive from Lower Fishpool Lodges, you’ll also find Panpwnton Secure Dog Park — a private one-acre paddock designed for safe, stress-free dog exercise.
Fully enclosed with 6ft fencing and secured by coded gate entry, the park guarantees exclusive use for every booking. Facilities include in-field parking, agility equipment, water supply, sheltered seating, and even floodlighting for evening play.
A place close to our hearts as it is located on our family-run, Panwpwton Farm, the dog park also has a café, and toilet facilities that are available at the nearby campsite.
With prices starting from £8 per dog per hour, it’s the perfect spot to let your dog off the lead without distractions, livestock, or other dogs. Ideal for energetic exercise, relaxed countryside play, or focused training sessions.
